Volkswagen Single Seat EV unveiled in Frankfurt

Volkswagen AG launched a single-seat car for urban commuters at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. NILS, the concept car, is backed by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. The electric vehicle appears as a dream car that wants to enlist its presence in the real world. Being a centre of attraction in the motor show, NILS is stepping forward to become eye candy.

NILS is a car of the future and boasts unique features. It is an eco-friendly car that exhausts zero-emission. The car is made of an aluminium frame and offers a speed of 130km/h. Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the Board of Management and Head of Development for the Volkswagen Brand, cited that NILS looks like a futuristic vehicle in its design and appearance. The director of Volkswagen Group Research, Prof. Dr Jürgen Leohold, said that NILS proves itself in the context of the growing influence of electric mobility and cutting-edge vehicle concepts. This car is a real outcome for intensive analyses of future and vehicle research. It is about to play an important role in strong networking and relates to strong marketing. He stated that the car would fulfil the target group-specific requirements, particularly in electric mobility.

The electrification of existing models and the introduction of new vehicle concepts will raise electric mobility status to an unbelievable height. Dr Ulrich Hackenberg said that the project aims to capture the market with a technically concrete and economically feasible micro-mobility vehicle. This will add a new page in the electric drive technology. Individual transportation will become more efficient and environmentally friendly.

NILS is a very safe car and fulfils all safety norms. It is a reflection of a new era of motor vehicles.
