The pressure on electric grids is immense during hot summer days. To ease some of this pressure, the SDG&E has proposed an energy saving incentive program to its customers.

The proposed program is ‘Reduce Your Use’. Under this program the customers will be eligible for bill credit, for the amount of electricity they do away with.

Customers can sign up online for this scheme. Customers can reduce their electricity bills by many dollars, depending on the amount of electricity they do away with.

The scheme will run from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm. To save on your bills, SDG&E advises unplugging appliances not in use; raising central AC thermostats four to six degrees;turning off pool pumps in the morning and night; using major appliances like the washing machine and dishwater at morning or night.
