How it works:
Electric cars have different engines as compared to normal cars which work on gasoline-powered internal combustion engines. These cars operate on electric motors powered by batteries. The charging of a car battery depends on the efficiency of an electric car. On an average, mileage of an electric car may vary from 50 to 250 miles. At present, the production of electric cars has touched the sky. This is a huge step to reduce environment pollution.
How it saves money:
An electric car is known as 'the best green car for fuel efficiency'. According to the surveys, one has to spend around 12 cents per mile in gasoline- powered vehicle while electric car only involves around two cents per mile. Hence, it is cost effective and saves lots of money.
How it's an eco-friendly car:
Electric cars are completely eco-friendly, if the batteries get power by a nuclear, hydroelectric or solar power source. On the other hand if the power company uses another alternative source such as coal to power the batteries of an electric car, it can create indirect environmental pollution.
